Jim Walsh has been involved in hockey his whole life.: He started skating at a early age and continued to develop his love and passion for the game. He played his high school hockey at Governor's Academy in the tough ISL in the early 90s. He played college hockey at Middlebury College and won 3 NCAA National Championships. Post-graduation he played professionally in Sweden. He has brought all his experience and passion to develop hockey players to become the best they can be. He looks to develop a complete hockey player with both fundamental and advanced skills including:

Hockey is a game of 10 foot battles, so quickness and explosiveness, puck protection, strength on puck and good balance are keys to success. This is why I am going to use weight belts with the kids as they skate. It will improve balance, strength and ultimately enable them to win more 10 foot puck battles with speed and strength.

I will also work on the basics with the kids. Just because you are a great hockey player does not mean you don’t need continued work on the basics of the game. These are examples of what we will work on.
